Zvezda Shipyard in the Russian Far East has started cutting metals to build a second LNG-powered MR product tanker. The series is designed for transporting oil products and condensed gas and will be deployed under a long-term time charter agreement between Novatek and Sovcomflot.
The 50,000 dwt tankers with a 1B ice class notation will be over 180 meters LOA and over 32 meters beam and have a draft of 13 meters. They will be capable of navigating round the year in the Baltic under ice conditions.
